Steps to Writing a Letter to Encourage Votes! Thank you for your support in distributing Pro-Life Voter's Guides and letters to your friends, family, and church groups encouraging them to vote pro-life! Below are some guidelines to help you mount a successful letter writing campaign. In addition, click here (If you are utilizing Firefox, Right Click Link, select copy link location, and paste the link in the browser's address bar.) for a sample letter with paragraphs about Todd Tiahrt and each of the 4 congressional district candidates endorsed by KFL PAC. You can edit this letter and add your own comments. If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact Nicole or Melinda by e-mailing kflpac@yahoo.com or calling 316-687-5433. Steps to writing a letter to friends at church (for Printer Friendly Version Click Here (If you are utilizing Firefox, Right Click Link, select copy link location, and paste the link in the browser's address bar.)) First you must understand the importance of this effort. When a candidate supports abortion or is strongly pro-life, we are obligated to inform our friends and members of our church. No one, especially a Christian, should knowingly cast a vote for someone who believes killing children in the womb should be legal. It is up to those of us who know the truth to inform our Christian brothers and sisters. (Read Ezekiel 3:16-21) This freedom of speech and standing for what we believe, is also a basic right given to us by God and by the founders of this country – given to us through blood and sacrifice, even to this very day. The importance of conveying the truth about life & death issues cannot be stressed enough. Our purpose is clear – to expose the culture of death and promote the culture of life. Therefore, in order to accomplish this effort, you will need a list of all the members of your church along with your own personal address book. Ask some friends to help you – it’s more fun and they will want to be involved as well. Purchase the envelopes you need. Large numbers of envelopes can be purchased at Office Depot, Office Max, Wal-Mart or any department store. Hand address envelopes to everyone on your list. Do not use labels for the addresses. You can use a label for the Return Address, which can be a post office box or a street address. These labels are easy to print and will be needed if you will be mailing your letters through bulk mail. (See Below) Next, read the enclosed “Sample Letter.” If you like this letter, you can use it as is. If you want to make changes, you are welcome to do so. You should add an additional short paragraph if there is an important Board of Education race in your area and/or a State Representative race in your area. We can help you with this addition to the letter. Next, contact your like-minded friends and ask them to join you in signing the letter. Also ask them if they would be willing to help finance the mailing of the letter with a $10 or more contribution. Depending on the size of your church and mailing, you should have from 5 to 20 people sign the letter and help with the expenses. The more that sign the letter, the more likely the reader will recognize some of the signers which will add clout to the letter. Once you have enough signatures. Have copies of the letter made so that you have enough to fill the envelopes you have addressed. Then, with friends, prepare the mailing. If you have less than 200 letters, buy First-Class stamps and mail the letter as soon as possible. If you have more than 200 letters, we will explain how to prepare the mailing so that you can get bulk mail rates, which are about ˝ the regular first-class postage. Call us at 1-800-928-5433. Everyone should pray that Godly men and women, who most closely reflect Christian values, be elected to serve as our public officials. |
