Kansans for Life has endorsed Ron Estes for the 4th Congressional District special election that will take place on April 11th. Ron has been actively involved with Kansans for Life for a number of years and is strongly pro-life. He is an excellent candidate for the 4th District and will be a great advocate for the pro-life values of our state in Washington D.C.
Ron is running against Democrat James Thompson. Thompson is a Wichita attorney who has said that he will work to repeal all infringements on a woman’s “right to choose abortion.” He has stated that would include the repeal of the Hyde Amendment, the law which prevents tax payer funding from going towards abortion. Here is a comparison of the two candidate’s positions:
Ron Estes James Thompson
- Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act1 Support Oppose
- Dismemberment Abortion Ban2 Support Oppose
- Sex-selective Abortion Ban3 Support Oppose
- Defunding Planned Parenthood4 Support Oppose
- Protecting the Hyde Amendment5 Support Oppose
The difference between Ron Estes and James Thompson is clear. James Thompson has taken a stance in favor of abortion for any reason, at any time in pregnancy, funded by your tax dollars. Ron Estes has been an active advocate for the unborn. It is essential that pro-lifers get out to vote for Ron Estes on April 11th. You can get involved in the Estes campaign by signing up HERE.
1 The Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act bans abortion 20 weeks after fertilization when evidence shows babies can feel pain.
2 A Dismemberment Abortion Ban would ban a form of late term abortion in which a living, unborn child is ripped one limb at a time from her mother’s womb. The baby bleeds to death during the abortion.
3 A Sex-Selective Abortion Ban would prevent abortion in cases where the parents are seeking an abortion because they do not like the gender of their baby.
4 Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion provider in the country and performs over 300,000 abortions every year.
5 The Hyde Amendment prohibits federal funding from being used for abortion.
